Are Spinning classes a good workout?

Good? As Kellogg's Tony the Tiger would say, "they're greaaaat!" That's about the only way to describe a workout that's fun, challenging, motivational and super effective, all at the same time.
Spinning classes are conducted by enthusiastic leaders, who ride with you and guide you through the session. Because they're coaching and you're riding alongside other spinners, you're motivated to do your best. And, because it's a structured routine, carefully planned to offer hard work, but plenty of active rest when necessary, too, you're guaranteed excellent exercise. In fact, some top bicycle racers attend spinning classes.

Train like the Pros
90 minute Power + Endurance exercise routines were designed by Coach Darryl in the early 2000’s to increase cyclist leg strength, endurance and climbing capability. Classes are easier at first then get harder as YOU get stronger.
Workouts use the industry standard proven technique of building power in the first third of the training evenings, then endurance in the middle third, then anaerobic capacity in the final third to maximize your conditioning at class end.
Exercise routines improve your cycling in 4 critical areas:
Leg strength - with more time on weaker leg to equalize strength
Flat terrain riding - 3 different challenging routines
Seated climbing - 3 progressively difficult levels
Standing climbing - 2 levels to improve your climbing capacity
And , of course, they are FUN, Coach Darryl will talk about local rides and challenges that will inspire and motivate you. I have found that Kaiser Permanante has the best coverage for Chiropractic but if that is not an oiotpn for you make sure you check out your copays and how many you get per year with other insurances..References : Working for a DC for the past 5 years!
