Went to a La Costa Canyon track meet the other day with my Canon Camera and lenses.  It was a very fun time, met a lot of friends and patients that I did not expect to see there. I got a lot of pictures, which can be seen at  www.smugmug.com  my user name is "Atomicman".   At the end of the set of 600 pictures (!) is a set of edited ones worth looking at. The pictures in general are fun.

I call this picture: "The Handoff"

 On a more serious side:

When I got home and edited the pictures , I was stunned at the injuries about to happen. Why these kids are not under chiropractic care I do not know.  First, the track athletes could be much faster/jump higher. Second, they would not be facing a career ending injury.  I am going to  approach the coaches/ parent liason about this. I would be willing to do a gratis screen/prevention clinic to save these kids.

Two weeks later, at a track meet with San Marcos, I approached some of the parents about their kids pending injuries, and found they were aware of them. In fact, some of them had taken  their kids to the pediatric MD. The pediatric prescribed anti inflamtories  in all three cases. The parents indicated that their kids still had the problems. It did not occur to them to take their athelete to a chiropractor, specifically one that does sports medicine like myself.

If you are reading this, you already know about chiropractic, sports medicine, and the work we do with all ages of athletes. Please, when you hear about someone that is having problems, make sure they get in to see someone so that they can win the race, whatever race that may be. Most of our patients are referral, and kids love us.

May your week be a great one!
